All that is prepared a la plancha is naturally tasty down to natural sugars that caramelize at such high plancha temperatures. This results in a soft, subtle taste that cannot easily be defined as 'sweet'. The feedback you will usually get is: 'Yummy, tastes different...!'. It might be the extra super pepper or high quality courgette, your guests will guess. Instead, it is the caramelized sugar that we find naturally tasty and it is up to you to reveal the plancha secret...or not!
You can bring out flavours with herbs or spices and we have put together a range of accoutrements and salts, ideal for experimenting on the plancha. Be it Mediterranean, Asian or from the Balcan - typical falvour combinations awaiting to be contradicted or emphasized depending on the liquids and foods you use.
But remember: plancha is a category, a kind of cooking, not country specific, so a lot will depend on your own taste buds. Still, you will find that some spices work better than others, which is why we have developped a few combinations to give you some ideas.
